Jemila

My name is Jemila. I was born in the year 2006, the year my grandparents died. My mother is called Joan Awuor, my father is called Alfred Achola. As a child I liked playing, singing and reading. The year 2010 I started my schooling in a public school that same year I lost my dad, imagine how sad it was.  From there on I was left with my mom.  We were left perplexed because Father was the breadwinner of the family. My mother was jobless. Mother struggled by all means to make sure that we had something to eat.  After one year we were sponsored by RCAR program how happy and proud we were. In 2013 my Mother started her illness, and in 2014 she died.  After the burial I lost hope. I was 9 years old.  In 2015 we were taken by Lalmba program and were taken to the Ongorro Children’s Home. Now I am going to a boarding secondary school and I am going with the dream of being a Dr. in the future so that I can save people’s lives for them not to leave their children like we were left.

Jemila is currently enrolled in Grade 11
