Nancy Carter

Hello. My name is Nancy Carter and this will be my first Tembea Na Mimi and my first time in Africa.  Since 2023 I have done a number of treks in different parts of the world and have become hooked on the physical, mental and spiritual challenges travelling this way presents. This journey combines the opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause with my love for the walk. My goals are to meet the physical challenge of walking 270 kma across Kenya’s Rift Valley but more importantly to raise awareness of the realities for children in this part of the world who do not have publicly funded access to education after grade 9. The fundraising will support a scholarship program for those children most in need. 

I recognize the great privilege I have had – to have been able to access education, to travel and to physically be able to do this walk. I dedicate my walking to those in my life who cannot right now and will carry them with me in spirit.
